Marguerite (Margo) Mueller Flaugher, 97, of Pekin, Ill., formerly of Decatur, Ill., passed away on July 20, 2010, at Pekin Manor.

 

She was born in Decatur on September 8, 1912, to Johan and Henrietta Jankowski Schlesier.  She married Edward T. Mueller in Decatur on June 2, 1930.  He died on March 29, 1979.  She then married Charles A. Flaugher in Decatur on August 31, 1986.  He died June 3, 1988.  Her parents, six brothers, and four sisters preceded her in death.

 

Marguerite graduated from Stephen Decatur High School and attended Millikin University.  She worked for Lincoln Laboratories in the late 1940’s, was Society Editor for the Decatur Herald and Review in the mid 1950’s, and was employed by the U. S. Post Office in the 1960’s.  Marguerite was a member of the National League of American Pen Women.  She was a former member and V. P. of the Decatur Jr. Women’s Club.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Gloria A. Mueller, and son, Larry E. (and Karen) Mueller, all of Pekin.  Also surviving are four grandsons, Dave (and Camille) Mueller of New Market, Ala., Doug (and Michelle) Mueller of Jackson, MO, Dan (and Lori) Mueller of Morton, Ill., Don (and Irene) Mueller of Lincoln, Ill., granddaughter, Cheryl Leasure of Peoria, Ill., seven great-grandchildren, and former daughter-in-law, Yvonne Mueller, of Morton, Ill.

 

Marguerite was of the Catholic faith and a member of Saint Patrick’s Church in Decatur.

 

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, at the Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel Funeral Home, U.S. Highway 51 North, in Decatur.  Funeral liturgy will be held in the funeral home’s chapel immediately following the visitation.  Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Decatur.
